“When you realize that you are bringing joy to people, that is the most beautiful thing you can do with your time.”
Benno Fürmann is one of the most sought-after actors in Germany. He had his big breakthrough as a boxer in the “Bubi Scholz Story”. He was recently seen in “Babylon Berlin” as the head of the political police with a distinctive facial scar. In this conversation, Benno talks about key moments in his life – a formative accident, things that don’t suit him at all, and his many trips abroad. These include his time at drama school in New York and an adventure in the eternal ice of Patagonia. He is also passionate about nature conservation. Using the example of the dramatic changes in the Baltic Sea, he makes it clear that when it comes to nature conservation there is not just black or white, not just “the good” and “the bad”.
