Verstappen’s offspring: “Geneically certain potential”

Max Verstappen and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet are becoming parents. The extended family has won a total of seven World Cup titles. How fast will the child grow?

Red Bull motorsport consultant Helmut Marko has high hopes for Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen’s offspring. When asked in an interview with the “Kleine Zeitung” in Austria whether he already has his eye on the next Red Bull Junior, Marko replied: “That’s a bit far-fetched (laughs). But if your grandfather is a three-time world champion and he Father is a four-time world champion, then there must be a certain potential in the genes.”

Four-time world champion Verstappen and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet are expecting offspring. Kelly Piquet’s father is three-time champion Nelson Piquet. “But we don’t yet know whether it will be a boy or a girl, which in the end doesn’t matter. Fast women are just as in demand,” Marko continued.

Verstappen has been dating the German-born daughter of Brazilian racing driver Nelson Piquet since 2020. While Verstappen is becoming a father for the first time, it is already Piquet’s second child. She has a daughter from a previous relationship with former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat.

Marko would like to win the fifth title with Verstappen next season. “So far we have managed four titles with Sebastian Vettel and Max, so the fifth seems particularly difficult. We also want to complete our races again with the usual Red Bull efficiency and with ease,” said the Austrian.
