Restless Christmas Eve with a lot of work

The officers at the Berchtesgaden police station had their hands full on Christmas night. Several mentally ill and aggressive people kept the police on tenterhooks. Alcohol played a crucial role in many cases.

Berchtesgaden – The officers from the Berchtesgaden police station experienced a restless Christmas night. On Christmas Eve, December 24th, they were called to the hospital at 6:45 p.m. for an explosive operation. There, a mentally ill patient had to be guarded who had acted aggressively towards rescue workers. After examining the 27-year-old, the police ordered him to be admitted to the ISK Freilassing.

A restless Christmas night for the Berchtesgaden police

Shortly afterwards, the officers rushed back to Berchtesgaden, where a 25-year-old was in an extreme psychological state. The man screamed and gestured wildly. Since the officers were unable to calm him down, they took him into custody. At the police station, the 25-year-old tried to hit the officers with a punch, which was prevented by evasive maneuvers. In the detention cell, he urinated on the floor and screamed for hours. Witnesses later reported that the man had consumed a lot of hard alcohol throughout the evening.

While the 25-year-old was being accommodated, officers were called to a threat with a knife in Schönau am Königssee. Several patrol cars from surrounding departments supported the Berchtesgaden police station in this operation. The officers quickly got the situation under control. Here too, alcohol consumption was the cause: an alcoholic 58-year-old father was attacked by his sons, who were also alcoholic. The father grabbed a knife to threaten but held it upside down.
