Will Cadillac consider Mick Schumacher to enter Formula 1 in 2026? Mario Andretti, the team supervisory board of the future racing team, confirmed this to the German Press Agency (dpa). “There are a lot of drivers being considered. We are keeping all options open,” said the 84-year-old about a possible signing of the German.

Andretti further explained that an American pilot might have the best chance of driving for the new team. “I think the goal from the beginning was to have at least one American driver. “It definitely makes sense to put an experienced driver alongside this American driver,” emphasized the 1978 Formula 1 world champion.

Nevertheless, we want to keep all options open. “Suddenly someone you would never have thought of is available,” Andretti continued.

Until then, Mick Schumacher will drive and prove himself in the Endurance World Championship. He has given up his role as a reserve driver at Mercedes and wants to concentrate fully on the WEC with Alpine. The 25-year-old hopes that he can draw attention to himself with good performances.
