Fatal accident on the Bielefeld Südring

Bielefeld police report that a pedestrian was hit by a car on the Südring late in the evening (December 21st) and was fatally injured. The 39-year-old was able to be resuscitated on site by an emergency doctor after the accident, but died a short time later in hospital.

According to a police spokesman, the man entered the street around 11:30 p.m. and knocked on the window of a waiting car for reasons that are still unclear. He was then hit by a 52-year-old woman’s car coming from another direction. The southern ring was closed for several hours near the OWD entrance towards the city center.
