Developer – Lilium still finds buyers and can continue
As the start-up company announced at its headquarters in Gauting near Munich, the investor consortium Mobile Uplift Corporation will buy the operating assets of the Lilium subsidiaries and has signed a corresponding contract. The umbrella company’s creditors’ committee has already approved the deal and it should be completed at the beginning of January. A company spokesman said that around 750 employees who had already been laid off on Friday would be brought back.
Lilium filed for bankruptcy at the end of October after government funding failed to materialize. The rescue came at the last moment. The deadline for new investors to join was midnight.
Nothing was initially announced about the purchase price. Lilium has little debt, but needs several hundred million euros to continue its business and upcoming projects.
Lilium has been developing an electrically powered small aircraft over the past ten years. According to current plans, it should take off on its first manned flight next spring. Deliveries to customers should begin in 2026.
