The 17-year-old darts prodigy wins his second round game against Ryan Meikle 3-1 – and how!

In the fourth set, Littler plays an 11, 10 and 11 darter. His set average of 140.91 points is the best ever at the World Cup. The previous record was held by Gerwyn Price with 136.64.

Littler narrowly missed a 9-darter.

After the game, Littler is overcome with emotion. Because at the beginning he has a really hard time. Meikle initially has two set darts on double 12, but rejects and gives the set to Littler. That’s why he gets the next round.

The darts prodigy, who stormed into the final at the last World Cup, is really angry. He struggles with himself. The starting signal for the amazing performance!

“It’s probably the first and biggest time that the pressure has hit me,” he told Sky Sports. “In the Premier League, the first night against Luke Humphries, I was nervous, but the whole year – all the European tours and all the majors I played – I was fine.”

Littler continued: “(The pressure) was a lot, but like I said, I did well. I shouldn’t have won the first set, but I won it. Then, after the second break, you just have to drag yourself over the line.”

Now Littler can blow through Christmas. On Friday he will face Ritchie Edhouse or Ian White for a place in the round of 16.
