Angelina from Olching is hoping for a suitable donor shortly before Christmas. Who can help her?
Angelina, a cheerful girl from Olching, loves dancing and dreams of traveling the world. But a rare bone marrow disease, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), has recently changed her life dramatically.
This disease disrupts the girl’s blood production and can be life-threatening without treatment. The only hope for a cure is a suitable stem cell donation for Angelina.
Angelina also receives support from all over Olching. The local sports club, SC Olching, among others, has launched an urgent appeal via social media to help Angelina.
In most cases, stem cell donation occurs peripherally, similar to blood donation. Bone marrow sampling is only necessary in rare cases. Both procedures are medically proven and safe.
